As evidenced by the total redesign of the 2007 Alumascape Suite, this model year will go down as a banner year for quality, affordability and unprecedented eye appeal in the fifth wheel market. Never before has more value been offered in a fifth wheel. Designed and engineered for towing by a three-quarter ton or one ton pickup truck, the Alumascape Suite comes with a very stingy suggested base retail price that ranges from between about $36,000 and $46,000 — plus some change — with the price depending upon the model. Equally important is that the smorgasbord of options Holiday Rambler offers means that each client can tailor the unit of choice to their own unique and specific likes and preferences. Yes, the 2007 Alumascape Suite is truly “sweet.”
Eye appeal is always of paramount importance but before sketching the essence of what draws all eyes in the direction of the Alumascape Suite, it’s important to promulgate what has been done below the surface and away from view. First and totally new for 2007 is the superstructure platform the 2007 Suite is built upon. Holiday Rambler calls this superstructure the Z-Frame Superstructure. It’s designed such that the integrity of the infrastructure — above and below — will provide years of reliable service. The Suite is engineered to handle heavy cargo loads and the stress and traumas encountered as the Suite moves down and over the most demanding road surfaces. Equally importantly, because of how it’s designed, the Z-Frame now permits Holiday Rambler to create a

basement storage area that yields a humongous 116 cubic feet of storage space. All together the total cargo carrying capacity of the Suite — house and be as much as 2,770 pounds. Awesome! And because of the large bay doors found on each side of the Suite, pass through storage — 96-inches wide — is now a standard feature on all floorplans. Optional cargo bay slide-out trays are also available, making access to this storage capacity even more user friendly.
This is a true four-season recreational vehicle, and this fact needs to be underscored. The basement of this all-season unit is both insulated and heated, including a heated holding tank bay. As with the house portion above, residential style fiberglass insulation provides a huge benefit in the insulation characteristics that permit this kind of thermal barrier capability, offering protection from hostile outside ambient temperatures. The dump station control valves and outside service bay have been lowered, moved aft and centralized for end-user convenience. To enhance the R-factor, the bay doors are also designed with more insulation and all come equipped with pneumatic struts that modulate the doors during open and close evolutions. The bay doors come with a gel-coat exterior. The standard exterior upper body surface is aircraft grade aluminum but should the client so elect, this can be optioned to include a full gel-coat fiberglass exterior.
Of notable importance: the new Alumascape Suite Z-Frame Superstructure design also yields another very functional feature. Each landing gear is now operated independent of one another for each has its own electric motor and control switch. No longer is it necessary to manually extend the foot on one gear to accommodate irregular surfaces at a campsite. The touch of a button (raise or lower) now makes the adjustment for you.
Great effort has been made and attention paid to improving the aesthetics (both inside and outside), functionality, livability and comfort of the 2007 Alumascape Suite. The standard choice of wood used through the Suite continues to be New Vintage Oak but for 2007 a new selection Newport Cherry wood has been added as an option. Holiday Rambler now also offers — as never before — as an option in the Suite a king size bed.
New laminate countertops that include a Corian inlay on the bull nosing now includes a faux design that is incorporated into the surface of the laminate. The leading edge along the countertops has been radiused, providing a look that is more graceful and transitional, a look that is not found in a typical squared off treatment. New ceiling fans are included along with three new interior décor packages (Golden Summer, Spruce Meadow and Chai Latte) for 2007. The residential style bathroom has been upgraded and now features a large single piece molded shower with a frosted glass door that is contoured to match the configuration of the new shower. Darker wall board along with larger baseboard trim that accents and provides a more finished look has been added to enrich and enhance the eye appeal of the interior. The optional package that Holiday Rambler calls the Glitz Package is included in every Alumascape Suite. This package includes decorative designs that are carved and inlaid in the fascia trim that surrounds each and every slideout room. Roll-out linoleum has been done away with in the galley area and in its place individual pieces of vinyl tile that interlocking have been laid. The beauty part of this new floor treatment is that it creates the illusion that grout exists between the thicker individual vinyl tile pieces.
The Alumascape is offered in seven different floorplans and can include two, three or four slideout rooms, depending upon the floorplan. These models range in size from 34 feet up to almost 38 feet in length. The slideout rooms Holiday Rambler creates are not the typical configuration found in most fifth wheel towables. The slideouts in the Suite can be as deep as 49 inches (imagine, over four feet deep) and as

long as fourteen feet. When it comes to yielding livability at an RV campsite, the significance of these kinds of dimensions is huge. All slideout mechanisms are extended and retracted using Lippert electric slideout mechanisms that are powered from the house battery pack.
It’s important to note that Holiday Rambler has led the charge in other areas that are out of sight but not out the movement of on-rushing air around and across the bottom of the unit. And in areas that are visible like the front cap, the smart new contour for 2007 is not only pleasing to the eye but it helps the unit slip effortless through the air by reducing wind resistance as the unit moves down the road.

New as an option for 2007, the Alumascape Suite is now offering the Equa-Flex Suspension System, a state-of-the-art design that permits the suspension to more effectively intercept the trauma that originates from the road. Remember, that unless modulated it is this trauma that eventually finds a path up into the coach above and all of its contents. This Equa Flex system is further augmented and assisted by the leaf spring mechanisms and by the shock absorbers that have been specifically tuned for the Alumascape Suite application. Of course, Dexter Axles — a leader in the towable axle industry — are what all Alumascape Suites ride upon. This is good stuff!
We would be remiss if we didn’t point out the major advancement is design and construction that Holiday Rambler’s Alumaframe C-Channel Construction represents. A patented process, Alumaframe Construction features multiple layers in the roof, walls and floor (nine, six and six layers, respectively). Using interlocking C-channel structural members that not only cross one another to form an integrated grid pattern, they also penetrate one another and at the point where they intersect they are welded. This complex design includes residential style insulation, vapor barriers, interior wall board, foam core insulation to prevent heat transfer through the structural metal, 0.040 aluminum or gel coat fiberglass for the exterior and BriteTek for the roof exterior are among the kinds of materials used to create the house portion of the Alumascape Suite.
The appearance inside and out, the equipment that is standard on all Alumascape Suite models, the once optional equipment that is now standard – Aluminum wheels & fabric recliner - and the new package of options noted above are not simply a blip on the fifth wheel radar screen. No, Holiday Ramble has tailored the Alumascape Suite to lead the charge in the venues of value, quality and eye appeal. With getting the most bang-for-the-buck possible being of paramount importance among today’s smart and savvy shoppers, the Alumascape Suite paces the industry. You won’t find a suite sweeter than the 2007 Alumascape Suite.
