A Quality Obsession

Every aspect of the 2007 Presidential Suite reveals Holiday Rambler's obsession with one thing - quality.

Now arriving at Holiday Rambler dealers across America, the 2007 Presidential Suite fifth wheel brings substantial improvements and enhancements to the towing enthusiast. In addition to new floorplans, there are new standard features that were previously options, and there are new options that are being offered for the very first time. Coupled with a legacy that includes Holiday Rambler’s own patented Alumaframe™ construction, is their cutting edge approach to creative interior design and engineering, the inclusion of only the finest equipment and materials and Holiday Rambler’s obsession with quality. Bottom line, the 2007 Presidential Suite fifth wheel continues to pace all of the competition.

Available in five very unique floorplans, with lengths from 35 to 37 feet, the Suite can be enjoyed with three or four slideout rooms. While many of the competition’s units are 102 inches wide, for ease of towing and maneuvering Holiday Rambler has designed the Presidential Suite with an exterior width of 98 inches. Its cargo carrying capacities range from just shy of 3,500 pounds up to almost 4,500 pounds. The Presidential Suite rides on tandem axles (with sealed maintenance free bearing) and four fifteen inch aluminum wheels with the aluminum wheels being a new standard feature for 2007.

One very important new standard feature is the Equa-Flex Suspension System by Trailair®. A totally unique design, the Equa-Flex system yields a smoother, more comfortable towing experience. It literally tames irregular road surfaces. The Equa-Flex replaces the old conventional shock and spring type suspension, which used a cast iron equalizing rocker. The rocker’s job is to make sure the weight is equal between the two axles. It is not designed to absorb road shock. The Equa-Flex system includes a flexible equalizer that consists of a metal jacket with two arms encased in very, very hard rubber that is under very high compression. The arms that are encased in hard rubber absorb the shock and vibrations generated by the road below (the harder the rubber, the better the shock absorption). Because the rubber is so hard, it has a memory, which makes it return to a neutral position where it is immediately ready to absorb the next series of shocks generated by the road. Because of its design, Holiday Rambler is able to install the Equa-Flex without having to alter the frame in any manner (no cutting or welding). The Equa-Flex is a natural fit.

Holiday Rambler offers an optional suspension system on the Presidential Suite that is also built by Trailair. It consists of air springs (one on each side of the unit) that support the axles (one air spring per two wheels). The air-springs are made by Firestone and encompass two arms (with a three-to-one mechanical advantage) that are connected to the springs. This air spring system articulates, it equalizes, it absorbs shock and it can be adjusted specifically to the trailer weight class.

Interior design has always been of paramount importance at Holiday Rambler and 2007 is no different. Four new décor packages and two types of wood and wood stain (New Vintage Oak and Newport Cherry) let the discerning customer create the interior look and motif that they prefer. New furniture options include an Easy Bed sleeper sofa with two bolsters and a fabric glider recliner. An Ultraleather™ recliner or two OptimaLeather euro-chairs (with ottomans) are also an option.

Every Presidential Suite stateroom comes with a 72 by 80-inch king bed that extends and retracts with the street side bedroom slideout. For those who prefer, an optional queen bed is available. The salon dining area slideout can include a standard free standing dinette and a sofa/sleeper. This salon area configuration can be enjoyed on either side of the unit. The 37RLQ floorplan (this is one of the two different floorplans that feature four slideout rooms) features a free-standing dinette that shares the slideout with the refrigerator and sits opposite the full service galley. This same floorplan features a curbside sofa only slideout, while the street side slideout houses an entertainment center and desk or workstation. The Presidential Suite offers an amazing number of choices.

Two swivel chairs in the rear salon can be turned 180-degrees to enjoy the world outside through a large bay window. A utility table is positioned between the chairs and can be used regardless of which direction the chairs are facing. There are two other unique floorplans, one that features an L-shape galley countertop and one that offers an island bar.

All floorplans come with a unit-wide bath that includes all the essentials mandated by those who insist upon a full-service, well appointed bath. Included in this configuration and part of every Presidential Suite is a floor to ceiling closet that is designed to accommodate the optional Stak Pack washer/dryer. Every Presidential Suite is prepped to receive a washer/dryer combo. The private water closet includes a porcelain/composite toilet and a one-piece radius fiberglass shower that features matching contoured glass doors. The shower door is split in the middle and mounted on rollers, a design that permits the doors to glide open and close in opposite directions. Immediately forward of the shower is a lavvy and cabinet, along with a medicine cabinet with mirror above. Housed in the lavvy cabinet is a tilt out hamper with a netted laundry bag. The bathroom features a Corona Solid Surface counter top with radius corners and a composite sink.

At the front and across the entire width of the unit and stateroom is a wardrobe that includes sliding mirrored doors. Greater depth has been designed into the wardrobe for 2007 and it now yields greater storage capacity. Shelves line the inside of this cedar lined wardrobe. At the foot of the king bed is a chest of drawers, an overhead cabinet and TV cabinet to accommodate the optional 20-inch television. Sweet!

The galley is appointed to host everyone from the most serious chef to the seeker of a midnight snack. All floorplans include a pantry with a mega amount of storage. The solid surface galley counter top (with matching galley sink covers) comes with bull nose edging that includes an inlay to accent the leading edge and a Plexi Stone sink that is heat and stain resistant. Toe kicks are found at the base of all galley counter cabinets. An optional three-burner cooktop with a convection spacesaver microwave oven can be enjoyed in lieu of the standard 3-burner cook-top with conventional oven below and microwave oven. The eight cubic foot refrigerator can include an optional icemaker (some floorplans), or an optional 10 cubic foot refrigerator/freezer with or without an icemaker. And yes, an optional 12 cubic foot refrigerator/freezer is available. It also comes with or without an icemaker.

On the list of highly functional options that have been added to the 2007 Presidential Suite is a built-in vacuum system. It comes complete with a deluxe tool kit. Also for this model year, the optional fireplace can be accented with a new decorative hardwood frame. Beautiful!

With 50 years of proven reliability based on millions and million of miles of real-time road use, Alumaframe construction continues to the signature process used by Holiday Rambler to build all of their towable RVs. Employing the construction concept of layering (10-layer roof construction; six-layer sidewall construction; six-layer floor construction) and the use of aluminum C and H-Channel structural members, the aluminum cross members intersect one another, and at the point where they intersect they are welded. In the grid patterns formed by the intersecting structural member, 1-1/2 inch residential fiberglass insulation is packed and bonded. Two vapor barriers are added along with a layer of bead foam insulation that prevents the migration of temperature differences between the inside and outside worlds. Luaun backer is used for the interior wall, while the standard exterior treatment is .040 gage (smooth) aluminum. High-gloss gel coat fiberglass is available as an option. The structure of the sub-floor includes welded 1-1/2-inch tubular steel.

The slideout rooms are electric and use an optional house battery pack as their power source. The override for all slideouts includes a manual crank and extension rod. Each slideout includes a mechanical room lock that ensures safe travel.

The 2007 Presidential Suite comes with a host of features that mandate enumeration, for they underscore why this luxury fifth wheel paces the rest of the industry. Among these features are independent front landing jacks that come with individual electric motors and individual control switches. With this system there is no need to manually adjust the feet or pads on the individual jacks in order to achieve a level condition. You touch the control switch for the jack that needs to be extended or retracted and viola, it’s done.

The Presidential Suite features a front coach-wide basement storage compartment. It is enormous. Three access points to this huge exterior storage compartment are provided, one on each side of the Suite and a very large one on the front. It’s this kind of design that speaks volumes about the amount of functionality and utility the Presidential Suite offers. There is a second exterior basement compartment located below the bath deck that can be equipped with an optional slideout tray to facilitate ease of access and cargo handling.

Holiday Rambler has taken another important step to improve interior storage in the Presidential Suite. They have taken all of the utilities previously located in the base cabinets and moved them to one common area. In addition to freeing interior cabinet space for storage, the utilities have been located in one common area for improved serviceability.

If 2007 is the year you will be making a calculated move to improve and enhance your recreational vehicle lifestyle, then the 2007 Presidential Suite fifth wheel merits undivided attention. It’s cutting edge, it’s here and it’s by Holiday Rambler. Check it out.
