“Vacationer owners are extremely loyal.” Kevin Atkinson, regional sales manager for Holiday Rambler said. And Vacationer owners stick with their Holiday Rambler of choice for good reason. Before 2006, Vacationer was known as a value-packed gas-powered coach. Then last December, Vacationer premiered in the ’06 lineup as a diesel pusher with the look and features to prove it. After its welcome by the public, the Vacationer is back for 2007 boasting the XL value package. It’s extra large on amenities while offering a price to tempt even the squeakiest of penny pinchers.
One Size Fits All
The XL part of the Vacationer XL is the XL package, termed a “required option” in industry-speak. That means Holiday Rambler is presenting you with a coach stuffed to the gills with extra amenities like a 325HP Cummins® engine, an Allison® 1000 MH 6-speed transmission, an upgraded suspension package as well as upgraded interiors no matter which ’07 floorplan you choose.
The Vacationer XL offers families, and anyone else looking for a high-end cost-efficient motorhome, the chance to purchase a luxury diesel coach for the same price as a gas-powered coach. And naturally Holiday Rambler doesn’t skimp on the quality. “Everywhere you look you’ll see more value on the Vacationer,” Atkinson said.
“This is a diesel coach at a gas price,” said Rob Taylor, brand manager for Holiday Rambler. “At this price point you get an exclusive Roadmaster chassis and the Alumaframe™ superstructure.”
That durable structure makes a difference according to Atkinson. “The Alumaframe structure is built to withstand the rigors of the road, [it is constructed like] an airplane fuselage might be constructed,” he said. “[The impact of] a typical road is like experiencing a 2.6 earthquake full time… The Vacationer construction is designed to last 25 years!” So when it comes to “safety and solid construction, the Vacationer name will hold value alone.”
Being an RVer himself, Atkinson has unique insight into how the Vacationer XL stacks up against the competition. “The superstructure is 20 percent stronger than typical designs,” Atkinson said. “This structure conforms the diesel chassis into a true foundation, not just a chassis.” And the differences don’t end there. “The insulation on the Vacationer is 30 percent thicker than the competition’s,” he said. “Holiday Rambler products are known for being cozy and warm in cold climates and cool in hot climates.”
The coach offers other exclusive features like the Panaview™ one-piece windshield, spacious slideout bay storage compartments with top-hinged bay doors and luxury full body paint plus the warranty and award-winning customer service that come with the Holiday Rambler name.
Living Extra Large
Throughout the coach’s interior are the signs of Holiday Rambler craftsmanship. All three floorplans (34PDD, 34PWD and 36WBD) available with the Vacationer XL include a redesigned tub/shower area with an ample lavatory and private bath and custom cabinetry fashioned with new vintage oak. Plus, get a little more light in your life with the new galley window and a window in the private bath offered on all floorplans. Also, Holiday Rambler designers have created three all new decors packages featuring fabrics in lustrous golds, soft creams and rich browns.
Previously available only as options, the 50-amp 120V Distribution Panel and cord as well as dual 13.5M BTU air conditioners with ducted air and wall digital thermostat have been made standard on all Vacationer XL floorplans.
One particularly nice option is the Standard Run Savings Package that offers the popular and safety-enhancing 3-camera rear-vision system as well as the home theater surround-sound system plus sub-woofer.
Holiday Rambler has asked dealers to display the Vacationer XL where it’s most likely to catch the eye of prospective buyers, with the gas-powered coaches. “We’ve asked our dealers to place the Vacationer with the gas coaches,” Atkinson said. Since so many people associate Vacationer with a high-end gas model the placement makes sense. When asked how he’d use the Vacationer XL if it belonged to him Atkinson responded, “That’s a long story.”
“People buy coaches to have the ultimate freedom to travel and have their own bed, kitchen stove, bathroom … wherever you go, you’re at home,” Atkinson explained.
“We [RVers] are all adventurers, even back to the settlers who came west in covered wagons. In a nutshell, that [spirit is] what drives this industry!”
Packed with amenities plus affordability, the 2007 Vacationer XL is a Holiday Rambler that any RV adventurer could claim with pride.
